Terms of Usage
Effective July 11, 2026 · Last updated July 11, 2026
These Terms of Usage ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Dokoola platform, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, posting content, applying for jobs, entering contracts, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
1. About Dokoola
Dokoola is a job and talent marketplace that connects businesses and professionals across The Republic of The Gambia and Africa. The Service supports freelance, contract, full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities.
Dokoola provides the technology platform that enables users to discover opportunities, submit applications, communicate, manage contracts, and access related tools. Dokoola is not an employer, recruitment agency, staffing firm, or party to agreements entered into between users unless expressly stated otherwise.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
If you use the Service on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
3. Accounts and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your profile up to date.
You may not create multiple accounts to evade restrictions, mislead other users, or abuse platform features. You must notify us promptly at support@dokoola.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, pose security risks, or harm the integrity of the platform.
4. User Types and Responsibilities
Talents (job seekers) must provide truthful profile information, including skills, experience, resumes, portfolios, and application responses. You must not misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or availability.
Clients (employers) must post lawful, accurate job listings and must not discriminate on the basis of protected characteristics under applicable law. Job descriptions, compensation details, and requirements must be honest and not misleading.
All users must interact professionally and respectfully when messaging, reviewing applications, negotiating contracts, or resolving disputes.
5. Platform Features
Job listings and applications. When you apply for a job or submit a proposal, you consent to sharing the profile information and materials you submit with the relevant employer or client for that opportunity.
Contracts. Contracts created through Dokoola formalize agreements between parties. Both parties must acknowledge a contract before it becomes active. Amendments require mutual agreement. Dokoola may maintain records of contract activity for audit, dispute resolution, and platform integrity.
Messaging. The messaging feature is provided for professional communication related to jobs, applications, contracts, and platform activity. You must not use it for harassment, spam, unlawful content, or attempts to circumvent platform safeguards.
Subscriptions and billing. Some features require a paid subscription. Pricing, plan features, and billing terms are displayed at the time of purchase. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. You are responsible for any applicable taxes and for keeping your billing information current.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content
- Impersonate another person or organization
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Upload malware or attempt to compromise platform security
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the Service without permission
- Circumvent access controls, fees, or restrictions through off-platform arrangements where prohibited by a specific feature or plan
- Use the Service for unlawful employment practices or exploitative work arrangements
7. Content and Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service, including profiles, resumes, portfolios, job posts, messages, and contract materials. By submitting content, you grant Dokoola a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely as needed to operate, promote, and improve the Service.
Dokoola and its licensors own all rights in the platform, software, branding, design, and documentation. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by law or with our written consent.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Dokoola does not guarantee that you will obtain employment, hire suitable candidates, receive payment from another user, or achieve any particular outcome through use of the platform.
We do not control and are not responsible for the conduct of users, the accuracy of user-generated content, or the performance of work arranged between users. Any contract, payment, or work relationship is primarily between the parties involved.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Dokoola and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Dokoola in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred United States dollars (USD $100).
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dokoola from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, your interactions with other users, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion through your account settings or by contacting support.
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms, create risk for other users or the platform, or if required by law. Termination of platform access does not automatically cancel obligations between users under existing contracts, but it may limit your ability to manage those contracts through the Service.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of The Republic of The Gambia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to contact us at support@dokoola.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. If the dispute cannot be resolved within thirty (30) days, it may be brought before the competent courts of The Republic of The Gambia.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service, by email, or by other reasonable means. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were most recently revised.
Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
